So, mascot on the dash at 5 AM, off we went.

As it is about 900 miles each way, we rented a car rather than take my old wagon. I wanted to rent the same kind of car we took to MD in May, but when we got to the rental place they were out of those. So, they upgraded us to the next size up for the same cost.
The problem is it is an SUV and fuel pig.

On the highway it got up to 24 MPH on the long flat areas of New York State. That was better than I expected, but not the 30+ I wanted.
We stopped for lunch just past Buffalo in a rest area where you park on your side of the highway and walk across a bridge to the middle where the McDonalds is.

We drove from Massachusetts through New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio to Kentucky.

Things got strange in the back seat with sheep, but I stayed in the driver seat, so I’m not sure what was going on.

We did drive through Cincinnati. I’ve changed planes there before, but never been into the city. We didn’t see WKRP, but I did look for it.

About 9 at night we got to the hotel. The mascot was tired.

Now, we’ve got to go to the faire.
