It got fairly well under freezing last night for mid-fall. About 26F/-3C. We had not yet turned the heat on in our apartment, so it got fairly cold inside too.
My wife suggested I look around with the IR camera.
You can certainly see where we had been sitting and sleeping.

When running errands today I stopped at our troupe storage locker to look for the key to the city of Worcester. I looked in lots of boxes, didn’t find it.

I did eventually find it in our curio cabinet along with our cannibal brain eating stick and our wooden dagger from Sherwood forest.

The last of my birthday presents arrived today too. If you’ve seen this season of Doctor Who you’ll know there was one episode where the Tardis is put into "Siege Mode" and shrunk to its minimum size to be resistant to attack.
My wife got me what is supposed to be a replica of the prop used.
But, I maintain that it is a real Tardis in siege mode and just has to be given the power to be restored. I’ve already got a Tardis key from the '70s, so once I get it restored I’m all set.

I hope it does't take scary 2D people to do it...

What exactly is your cannibal brain eating stick?

Some friends brought it back to us from a trip to the south seas. We're told it is the kind of thing used by cannibals to crack open people's skulls when they want to eat their brains.

Not sure why it made our friends think of us. (OK, I did have one remote family member eaten by cannibals in that part of the world, but I don't think they knew that...)
It is interesting and we don't have anything else like it.

The stick doesn't look like it would be that useful for cracking someone's skull open, but it does look like it could be used to spoon brain out....

What's the story behind the remote family member who was eaten by a cannibal? O:

I think this little one is more for a utensils than doing the hard work. I'm told they had bigger ones for the real cracking, but our friends didn't want to bring a spear sized one home on the plane...

The story as I understand it is a great, great uncle back in the 1800's was a Christian missionary. I think it was New Guinea or some place similar he went.
When he arrived he was told "Don't go up in those hills. The locals will kill you and eat you."
"They must be brought the word of God," he replied.
He went up into the hills. They killed him and ate him.

I have not personally verified the story, but one of my cousins has. She actually went there and saw the statue they had put up in his memory. I guess his sister wrote a book about it, but I have not been able to find a copy as it is more than 150 years out of print...
