50,000 miles

My little car that I still think of as new hit 50,000 miles today after 2 1/2 years. (It is a not round number of 80,467.2km…)

This year has had my worst and my best milage on the car.

The winter was tough and the car does not like the cold. It drives fine in it. But, lights, wipers, heaters and defrosters all take power and power for that is not power to getting me farther down the road for the same amount of gas.
It is even more jagged if you look at the individual tanks.

I’m sure once the cold really gets going, that black average line will be headed down again.
All in all, I’m still quite happy with my car.
I hope the winter isn’t too bad.

Kinda gives me pause when considering my upcoming Midlife Crisis Car. I have the bad feeling it's going to age mechanically at three times the rate of B's cuz there's no way I'm buying something that gets 17MPG city. Unless the next-gen Taurus drops 5-600 pounds and I'm somehow unable to resist the giggle factor of a 3.7L twin turbo. But I think I can...
