Maybe they know something I don’t know?
Sep. 9th, 2014 01:44 pmAs I’ve complained about before, out of the 14 theoretically active members of Phoenix Swords, so far only my wife and myself appear willing to go to the show in Alabama in November.
There are a few I haven’t heard from yet. So, maybe it won’t be as bad as I fear.
We’ve been doing this faire since 2002 and it jumps around a lot. This year it is going to be in its 6th location.
But, this location is the place where the owners have bought land to make a dedicated place for renaissance faires. So, it shouldn’t move around again after this.
I was looking for the new site on Google Maps today and found something that may explain our member’s hesitation to sign up for the show.
Look at the map along the upper right side:

That’s right, to get to the faire site you must cross the river Styx.
As I recall, it isn’t heaven that is supposed to be on the other side of the Styx either.
We’ve had a few jobs that we have said were “from hell” over the last 12 years.
But, this might be the first one that is actually held there.
I guess I can’t blame my folks for not wanting to go to hell for a show.
