Phoenix Swords: 12 years

fbhjrSeptember first 2002 was the official date we started Phoenix Swords.
I know, it was July 10th we register the name. And, August 10th that we did the first show under the name.
But, we did not announce the new troupe or activate the web site until we had done our last show with the old troupe. So, the "official" date for Phoenix Swords is the first day of September.
In the time since then we have done 293 shows and 85 different people have performed with us or helped at our shows.

Our hottest show was the Paladin faire we called "Fat People in Heat".

We’ve had several shows that were just Casey doing fire juggling with our booking.
There are two different shows where we tied for the most number of people (24) the Paladin show where everything went wrong (http://phoenixswords.atthefaire.com/galleries/2004/2004_paladin/index.html ) and the faire we put on ourselves back in 2006 (http://phoenixswords.atthefaire.com/galleries/2006/2006_MGF.html ).
We’ve performed before as few as three people. (No photos of that.)
We’ve performed at events with more than 150,000 people. Although how many watched us is not clear. http://phoenixswords.atthefaire.com/galleries/2006/2006_bige.html
The closest show we’ve done is half a mile from our home for a church here in town. No photos of that either.
The farthest show we’ve done was at the Mobile Zoo and we did several shows there. http://phoenixswords.atthefaire.com/galleries/2004/2004_MRZF/index.html
It has rained on 24% of our shows. There was a time it rained on 7 shows in a row, skipped on and then rained on 8 more. That was a pretty soggy time.
There have been plenty of good times and bad over those 12 years.
But, it has been a lot of fun.
Hopefully there is much more fun in store.

Of course, there are some who are now bitter enemies too. But, what can you do?
