Two dozen images from the past
Jul. 27th, 2014 10:46 amAs I said, we found a lot of photos yesterday. The tote, the bag on it and the bag in front of it are all full of photos.

This morning I reached in and pulled a bunch out to scan. They are not in any particular order. Some things are grouped together, some aren’t.
So, here are some random images from my past. I may have shared some before, maybe not. I just randomly picked these.
This is at SeaWorld with our cousin

This has a date on it and it is with our other cousins also in Florida.

This is my wife on one of our trips to Ireland. I think our honeymoon in 1996.

This is from what was our annual Bring Your Own Steak party. We had that party every year from 1983 to 2004 or 2005. This one was 1988.

I haven’t seen that inflatable Godzilla in decades…
My wife in the snow. Some winter after 1993 when we moved into this apartment.

Another BYOS party. I think this one is 89 or 90. That kid I’m throwing the ball towards is now about 30 and works as a security guard.

This is from one of my birthday parties. I don’t know the exact year. It is post 1983 as my wife is in it and I know this wasn’t the first birthday after we met. But, the presence of one of the other folks leads me to think it is probably pre-1986.

My wife in Ireland again. I know this one was 1996.

Me in Ireland. Same trip.

Again, me in Ireland. This was at the base of Blarney castle. I didn’t kiss the stone.

The apartment I am in here belonged to some folks who are no longer my friends. They lived there from 94 to 98 or 99. So, this is somewhere in there.

You can see in the background of this photo that the room we cleaned yesterday has never been very neat.

This shows what I was doing with the lightsaber. My friend Alan was shooting disks at me from another Star Wars Toy. I’d guess this is 93 or 94.

This is in Bar Harbor Maine. My wife and I liked to go there on vacation before we started a sword troupe that used a lot of our money. I know we haven’t been there since 2001 and this was not that trip…

This is from 2002 and is one of the first Phoenix Swords shows.

I think this one is from

This is my wife and me at the Cloisters museum in New York City. Probably mid 90’s.

Me, same trip. I’m wearing the raincoat I got for the Ireland trip in 96. So, this would either be just before or after that.

I have no idea which of our jobs this is from. It isn’t our tent. So, I don’t even know where it was taken.

This is from our very first job. In a parking lot in the middle of summer 2002. Very hot.

These are our friends Mike and Dave. Taken some time before they got married and moved to Seattle.

Another BYOS party. I’d say early to mid 90’s.

Mike and Dave again.

This BYOS photo is dated, so I know it was 1997.

Maybe some day I’ll scan some more. I like looking through the old stuff…

Date: 2014-07-28 01:12 pm (UTC)The very first one was held at the apartment Yebo and I lived in back in 1983. The last one was he'd at his house in 2005. He and I were the only people who had been to every one of them over the years. So, we agreed it had gone on long enough and called an end to them.
He and his wife host the monthly game night. And, every spring we make sure there is a grilling time in honor of our old party.
For living in an apartment, it is easier.
We don't need to do the work in the yard, the repairs on the place or plowing the snow.
We said we'd get a house when we had kids, but weren't able to have kids.
So, it never happened.
It may still at some point.
My wife would like a dog and we can't have one in the apartment...

Date: 2014-07-29 01:31 am (UTC)We are certainly responsible for minor repairs. But, not things like the plumbing, the roof, the major appliances. Those are all part of the apartment complex's responsibility.
It depends on the lease you have with the renter. Some require more repairs than others. Ours does not allow you to hook up your own appliances, so they are responsible for all appliances there.
