Last night I dreamed we were doing one of the southern shows we do in Pensacola and Mobile.
We’ve been doing those shows for more than a dozen years now, and they are often great fun.

In the dream we were at the new faire site, where the show in November is scheduled to go on.
There were a number of large tents, much larger than normally at that show, on the order of full circus tents.
Because of all of these tents, it was harder to see around the grounds than normal. There was a main path, but outside of that, much was blocked.
(If you play WOW, it was very much like the Darkmoon Faire now that it is off on the island.)

The faire organizer, Steve, came up to us as we wandered through the faire.
“I know it is difficult for y’all to do your fire show,” he said. “So, I’ve found someone else to do that.”
He motioned towards one of the large tents. I could see that behind it was an area with a lot of chairs. But, I couldn’t see the actual stage as it was blocked by the big tent between us.

As we looked a wave of fire rolled out from where the stage must be across all the chairs. The chairs were metal, so did not catch fire, but the grass under them burnt to ash.
I could tell by the fire that it was a flammable liquid that was being poured out onto the ground and ignited.

“That doesn’t look very safe to me,” I said to Steve. “Didn’t that fire just go through where all the audience will sit?”
“I’ll go have a talk with them,” he said.
We stayed where we were as Steve walked around the large tent to where the fire act would be.
“Y’all can’t be lighting the audience on fire,” he said as he went around the tent from us.

Another wave of fire poured through the chairs.
Someone, maybe Steve, maybe not, ran away from the stage through the chairs. They were completely on fire and covered in burning fuel.
I knew that even if I had my safety equipment with me, and I did not, I was too far away to get there in time to save them.

Dream ends

I woke from this dream to a flash of light and what sounded like an explosion in the parking lot of our apartment. It took me a few seconds to realize there was a storm going and it was just a very close lightning strike. Given how it rattled out windows, it must have been very close.

It was an “exciting” way to wake up. Took a while for my heart rate to go back down again.

Huh. We got a lot of wind around 3AM, but no rain or thunder.
It was forceful enough to shake against the apartment, and rattle the blinds to wake me up, but that was
about it (although the cooler, drier air was nice to have)

Hope we never see that...

Sounds like a really bad dream.

Immolating the audience seems like a Bad Idea.
