The class was fantastic!
We made it to the hotel near Stonehenge only getting lost a few times. (Google has not been overly reliable about UK directions. Maybe it is a units issue. We think when it says miles it may mean leagues. But, I digress.)

So, I don't think I'll get many photos up here either. I've got a lot of them. Trust me.
Other castles, iron works, sheep, swords, sword making, etc.

I did get it to upload one of my sword:

Hopefully more later.

It is based on a Celtic sword in a museum here in the UK. I'm afraid I didn't catch which museum.
The person who runs the class actually went and measured the original sword to make the mold. The only difference is the handle is a little bit longer. Good thing too, my hand hardly fits on as it is.

Soooooo very awesome. And gee, the the grip is a wee bit small. Bet it fits a womans hand, like say your wifes.

I did get two extra...

It is probably good I ordered them before I found out how much work it is to finish them.
I might have said "one is good" if it were now...

Can't wait to hear how you complete a sword.

The steps are fairly easy. Take a sword blank and file it down with a rough file, then a fine file, then sand paper, then fine sand paper, then ultrafine, then polishing paper, then actual polish.
That said above is about 10 hours of work with modern files. I hate to think if we had been using rocks...

We got lost going to Stonehenge too! I was surprised how few signs there were for it (and now small) considering it is a World Heritage site. We finally had to stop and ask a Bobby for directions.
