Silver Kingdom

This weekend we performed at the Silver Kingdom’s faire.


It’s a fairly small faire, but only about 15 miles from home. (At least for us.)

Saturday was another very hot day like the whole previous week had been. To avoid more sunburn, I bought a hat.


For a couple of hours on Saturday, palusbuteo joined us in his Roman gear.



On Saturday the only rain was when he was there in armor. Go figure.

My wife and I are continuing to have issues and did out best to get some time alone over the weekend.


Sunday was much colder, wetter and in general greyer.
At other shows where it has been raining, Tom has done his anti-rain dance to get it to stop.
It involves dancing about with my umbrella.


The rain did let up some, but we still stayed under the tent. On Sunday we only had silverdragonma’s tent up. It still worked well.


On Sunday folks let me know that under the right conditions, my new hat made me look like a gnome.


I’m not sure I see it myself, but some see a resemblance.


Our shows went fairly well both days. Saturday the kids shows seemed to go over great in the pub. Sunday, not so much. But, Sunday the rain had stopped and more people were outside.




The Sunday events end with the LARP group that holds this event having a big battle with a great monster. Tom and silverdragonma agreed to help.



The monster is the guy who owns the place on stilts in a costume. It’s pretty impressive to see him stay on stills as lots of people whack him with boffers.

Our two folks who joined in were both "killed".

But, eventually the monster went down too.


It’s a fun faire. It’s very close to home. They had some good vendors this year.
Usually they pay us in the very good food they give patrons. Not this year. So, we’ve asked them about that for next year. We’ll see.
