Week (so far) in pictures

Monday started off without much snow.

But, this winter is very contrary. If there is snow, it melts it. If there isn’t snow…

So, not long after sunrise, the snow started.

The lobby where I work has big glass skylights. I very much like the look of snow on them.

Don’t know why. I just like how it looks.

Soon, white was everywhere.

The drive home was a bit slow, but not too bad.

Tuesday had a great sunrise.

And, the contrary winter started melting things.

But, I wasn’t going to complain.

And, the snow in the trees was pretty.

And, it was very sparkly in the sunlight.

When I went to the lunchroom, I saw the turkeys were trying to get in.

When I went to the door to ask what they wanted, they ran off.

I think they knew a storm was coming and were looking for food when they could.

The storm today was supposed to start overnight and get bad in time for the morning commute.
I work up at 4:30, saw there was no snow and decided I should get in early.
By the time I took a shower and got dressed, my car had to be cleaned off.
But, the snow going in still wasn’t too bad.

At 6AM, it was just me and the engineering tech.

And, the plow guy.

But, as time went on, more people showed up.

However, the “executive” wing where all the managers are stayed dark for a while.

The engineering wing was much busier.

The only one in my department who didn’t show up was our student worker, and he gets one day off a week anyhow.

We got a lot more snow than Monday.

And, that plow guy spent all morning moving it away.

It was coming down pretty hard.

We were getting about an inch and a half (4cm) and hour.

Despite this, a group of salesmen came to try and sell us stuff.

And, the mail still came through. Even if it needed some help.

Because of the snow, the let us go at 11 and paid us for a whole day. It was still 5 hours for me, but it’s nice to go home early.
The roads were OK, but not great.

Of course some folks still went pretty fast. Not to mention driving in the high speed lane where they aren’t supposed to be.

When I got home there were two 4 wheel drive vehicles trying to get over the snowbank.

They eventually gave up and went to get a shovel.

My wife and I had lunch and then cleaned off our cars.

Other people still had work to do.

I know the grass is always greener, them that doesn't have wants, and it's really easy for me to sit here high and dry to wish but...

I have severe snow envy!! This conditioned is helped mightily by your great real life photos. Thank you!

As I walked along the front of the building in the snow to borrow a shovel I thought of you and hoped I would be forgiven for ruining new snow...

But you 'ruined' it so nicely! What a great picture!! It tells the tale of a person's journey and doesn't even show the person. I love it. Thank you.

If they understood why it was there...and how it got there...I fear what might yet unfold.

They certainly haven't forgotten their ancestors were velociraptors.
So, if they ever get a copy of Jurassic Park, my whole company could be in trouble.

The only good thing is the doors take electronic door tabs, not just turning the handle. That should delay them a bit more.

They are selling technical parts for our robots. Mostly motors and bearings.
As there is a lot of that industry near Boston, there are a lot of companies selling those sorts of items here. They have a lot of sales people that go to buisniess trying to get us to use their products.
