Strange dream

I dreamed I was back in the Netherlands with my old boss as I was last
September.
Instead of it just being a week long trip as it was then, this was us
working there for a longer time.
I had a problem in that I had not turned my time card in for the week and
was worried about not being paid.
“Today is a holiday,” my ex-boss said to me. “You can go to the office
where they process your payroll and put your time card through the mail
slot. They won’t know it came in late because no one is there now.”
This seemed like a good idea. So, I drove off to the address for the place
that does payroll. It was in an industrial park that looked mostly
deserted.
I put my envelope through the mail slot in the building. As I did, I
noticed a spot of very bright light shining on me.
I looked up and saw a man with some sort of rifle pointing at me. It had a
very bright flashlight under the barrel and that was making the spot of
light shining on me. Like the laser guides, but with a bright white
flashlight instead of a red laser beam.
No knowing what was going on, but assuming he was getting ready to shoot
me, I tried to jump around the corner from this person. He followed,
continuing to shine the light on me.
I turned and ran, dodging from side to side as I did. I could see the
white beam hitting the things around me as he tried to keep it on me as I
dodged.
I came to the main road, but my car was in the parking lot back where the
man had been.
I saw a low grey vehicle with six wheels. It was much like the carts they
used in the old Banana Splits show. (Google “Banana Splits Buggy” and look
at images if you don’t know what this looks like.)
This one was not motor driven. There was a wheel on either side of the
seat. If you turned it, it turned the wheels below on the ground.
I tried spinning both to go forward, and I did. But, not very fast.
The man with the rifle came around the corner and started to shine his
light on me again.
I got out of the buggy, pushed it down the road to a big hill, and then
took a running jump into it to get it going.
I landed on my belly and it shot forward. I couldn’t reach the wheels to
try and use them to steer, so just grabbed the front edge of the buggy and
pulled to one side or the other as I sped down the hill.
As I sped up going down the hill, I still saw the spot of white light from
the rifle shining on the pavement to either side as I moved back and forth.
I did not look behind me to see where he was as I was afraid I’d go off the
road.
At the bottom of the hill I saw a sign saying “Route 60”.
“That’s the way back to Amsterdam,” I said. “He won’t follow me there.”
The road was a sharp right turn and I was going pretty fast. As I
approached the intersection I saw a stretch motorcycle was making a left
turn through the intersection.
“Get out of the way!” I shouted.
The guy on the back of the very long bike looked confused, but sped up and
got out of the way.
I just barely made the turn onto the new road.
Dream ends
I have no idea what inspired this dream at all.
Yes, I did watch the Banana Splits show when it was on the air in the late
60’s. But, I have not thought about it in ages.
I certainly was not chased by any gunmen when I was in the Netherlands last
September.
And, I have not had any paycheck problems.
I did exchange a few emails with my old boss the other day. But, it was
mostly about his luck, or lack thereof, in finding a new job.
Very strange.

Date: 2014-01-23 03:52 pm (UTC)Banana Splits was a very chaotic show= the total chos at work
Netherlands was the last time there was even a hint of normal in you job, the writing was on the wall by then
Going down hill fast, and a gunman with a light on you=you feel like you are under the gun, in the headlights and things are going down hill fast.
All leaving you feeling unsure of you job, ie: your paycheck.
The fact that you made the corner, and get your timecard in is your brain saying you will make it out of this chos, but it's going to be close.
That will be 5 cents
