This is that meme where you pick user icons from someone and they explain them.
These are the ones that [livejournal.com profile] hindustar picked:

At my last job, these two electric animal keychain rings sat on my computers.

Whenever someone would come into my office and say something stupid, I would pick one of these two to respond. As this happened very frequently at that job, they got a lot of use.
I tend to use this icon for silly things, especially silly things that go on at work. It’s been 5 years since I worked at this particular company, but silly things still happen at work.

This is the pig keychain from above tipped over on it’s back.
I use this one for when the stupidity is just to great for me to consider it silly. The silly pig is so full of stupidity that it has rolled over on its back and may die.

This is a hippo at the national zoo in Washington DC. I took the photo one day when we were their with our godchildren.
It was a hot day, but the hippo was in the hot room instead of out in its pool to cool off.
The zookeeper there said that this hippo did this. If it got hot, it came in to the shade when it would be better off getting in to the water to cool off. And, it did not seem happy in the warm shade.
I tend to use this icon when I feel I am doing something silly. Or, telling a silly story of some kind.

This one comes from one of our Phoenix Swords practices. I threw my dagger high up in the air and it landed in the ground sticking up, but with the hilt end in instead of the blade end in.
I tend to use it for posts about Phoenix Swords. Especially when things are not going quite as expected. Maybe not bad, but not as expected.

The lost bear.
There was a time last decade when things were going very poorly for me. At one point in that time I was at the beach near my aunt’s house. As we left the beach we saw this bear sitting alone in the sand.
It was clear that someone had cared for this bear very much, but it had been left behind.
As that was very close to how I was feeling about myself at the time, I took a picture of the lost bear.
We did not bring the bear home with us, although I was very tempted.
I maintain hope that the person who had lost the bear came back and found it. Something that would not happen if I took the bear away from where it had been lost.
I use the icon for times when I’m feeling lost or left behind.

Interesting to read your stories behind the icons and why you use them now
