Today we packed up the bags of swords and headed off to practice.

The “Don’t tread on me” flag above the garage where we practice looks like the weather has been giving it some treading on.

We’re getting ready for the big show in Pensacola Florida in March. So, we’re writing a lot of new fights and practicing the old ones.
My wife’s working on a new one with [Bad username or site: “palusbuteo” @ livejournal.com]:

[Bad username or site: palusbuteo” @ livejournal.com] and I are working on remembering the ones we used to do at the museum together 10 years ago.

One of the things my wife has always wanted is to do colored flame in our fire show. She got a new batch of fuel additives to try. (Ones that aren’t toxic as many of them are.)

Sadly, although it does burn green, it isn’t very bright. Both of these are burning in the photo:

If you put it against a dark background it is more visible.

So, this would only be OK for fire shows at night.
We do a few of those each year, so it should be OK. But, not for regular shows.
We had trouble leaving practice as the road was blocked one way and there was construction equipment the other.

But, we got past the construction equipment and got back home.

Date: 2014-01-14 02:39 pm (UTC)We are getting about a week of each.
Right now we are in the rain phase, so the snow has gone away.
I expect it back next week.
Our average snow for the winter is still above average. It just isn't sticking around.
