Practice started with the visit of a small toad.

But, this did not stop us from building a new arrow target.

This was to stop our new fire arrows.

It took [livejournal.com profile] adorabrightmoon some practice to deal with the heavier arrows.

The wick seems to be sliding back in flight.

But, we still fueled them up.

And, they were then lit.

We also did other fire things.

Tom did some fire eating.

So, my wife did too.

So, Tom did twice as much...

And, we lit his head on fire.

There are few folks who will remain so calm under fire.

The use of fire in your shows is very impressive.

FIRE!!!

Are you using aluminum shaft arrows? I'd suggest those instead of carbon fiber. Even though the flames don't get too hot, there will be enough repeated heating that will likely weaken the resin base of the carbon fiber shafts. Maybe put a little hole in the front end of the wick that can have a small I.D metal grommet crimped on, so that the screw-in blunt tip threads pass through the grommet but retains/holds it at the front of the arrow when shot/in flight?

Tom doing the human candle routine is always funny to see!

Hey, not to worry, using aluminum, the wick tends to slide backwards, and the arrow actually arrives with fairly little flame. I sus pect we may end up with glue rather than grommets because that's another potential burn issue for the performers. Our big issue seems to be sliding and targeting
