Parties we used to have

Back in the 80’s we lived in an apartment that had steam heat. The thermostat for the whole building was in the florist shop on the first floor. And, in the winter, they liked to keep it hot.
Our apartment was the last one on the steam line and all the steam came out there.
So, the colder it was outside, the hotter it was in our apartment. There might be a blizzard going on outside, but we’d have the windows open and fans going.
Because of this, we started a tradition of having summer parties for our Christmas parties in the winter. We started with “Christmas in July” and then kept the J theme for Jamaica and the Jungle.
But, then we switched to Jello:

It was enough jello to fill the small pool we had.

Not everyone got into playing with the jello.

Although

Others did play with the jello.

(I had to have my wife confirm that was me in the bottom right above. It has been 27 years and that is no longer the face I see in the mirror...)
Some people had a lot of fun with the jello.

Sadly, Mark the jello juggler died last year.

He is missed.

We had one guest who made an unfortunate comment about one of the women guests. So, Dave threw him in the jello.

He swished his head around a bit before letting him up.

Others just fell in.

For those of you who know him, that’s

Of course, if you fell in the jello, you couldn’t sit on the furniture. Directly.

I’m pretty sure that was all in 1986 at Christmas. I’m pretty sure I had stopped drinking before this one and that was in the spring of 86.
Either way, it’s been a while.
But, I still have the photos....
