Strange hotel questions

fbhjrWe drove until midnight then stopped at a hotel along the highway. Due to last years fiasco of Buffalo being closed, I went in to see if they had a room before my wife got out of the car.
They did.
I got it set and then asked which door to best get to the room.
"I'm parked out there," I said, pointing.
"You've already parked?" The man asked.
I looked at him for a second.
"I had to," I said. "You don't allow cars in the lobby."
"Oh yeah..."
