As before, to those of you where I said “send the cold back here, our snow
is melting” thank you for the prompt attention. It is very clearly here
and you should not have bothered to send so much.
Now, I’m not complaining as I know that

dealing with -15F/-26C.
I’ve only got +3F/-16C, which is far warmer in comparison.

But, that is still pretty cold for us. It is cold enough that the train
tracks into Boston are freezing and the trains are all running late.

And, it is apparently cold enough to freeze the heaters in the basement
apartment of my building.
When I got up this morning there were fire trucks, police cars and an
ambulance outside my building lighting up the parking lot.

(Sorry for the low quality. It was cold and the camera wouldn’t focus
well.)
I made sure we weren’t on fire. We weren’t.

When I left, having to pass them to get to my car, I asked what was going
on.
“The heaters in the bottom apartment failed,” the police man told me.
It’s nice to know there is a big response for that. The firemen were
walking through the garden in front of our building breaking ice off of
things. Not sure how that helps, but I hope it does.
It did make me very glad that my apartment gets hot water from the next
building over.

And, on completely different news, I had to go to the mall the other day to
get a gift card for the Winter Wizard who is returning to Switzerland after
working in my department for the last 2 years.
At the mall, I found they had replaced the tentacle window display.

I tried to find my photo of the tentacle one, but couldn’t. It’s somewhere
back in a post from last year, apparently not tagged in a way I can now
find.
Sad.
