Do I have to go hit a ship or something?
Dec. 31st, 2012 08:24 pmWhen I got to work today, for the first time in 11 days, I found a bottle of champagne on my desk.
Having given up drinking 26 years, 7 months and 15 days ago this confused me some.
I wrote my boss (who was out today) and email asking him if I was supposed to go smash it against one of our giant robot freezers.
“We got approved to ship our first system while you were on vacation,” he wrote back. “We bought champagne for everyone who worked on the project.
“You do not need to hit anything with it.”
I knew we had passed as he had written me an email at 4AM on the 21st to tell me. But, the champagne is a nice gift even if I won’t drink it. Never got that for working on a project before.
