Phoenix Swords Christmas Party
Dec. 1st, 2012 07:43 pmMy wife and I were off at a funeral this morning, but got back to Worcester in time for the Phoenix Christmas party.

As my wife said “good thing as we were paying for it.”
Our folks from CT couldn’t make it, and Jose dropped out. But, other folks still showed up.

We ended up with 10 folks there. (Out of about 18 that do jobs with us.)

Some folks, despite being performers, aren’t hot to have their photo taken.

Others go out of their way to be in shot.

Wanting to support the arts, and give him a hard time, I stuffed a dollar in his shirt and told him to make some art.

He seemed excited about the challenge.

And set off to do something “phoenix like” for the party.

It came out quite well for using my spare pen on a napkin.

So, not a lot of people, but a good time was had.

Of course, few people coming saves me money, so it isn’t all bad for me, even if I do miss seeing them.

Date: 2012-12-02 02:56 am (UTC)Ravena - Thanks! I had an "open studio" this evening and had to leave the party early, ended up selling one print.
Me and the other artist in the adjacent space (who is also my 'landlady' for the space) and I had no hopes
for anyone showing up....Then she ended up leaving an hour after that and sure enough a few dozen people
came by (there was a Santa parade the next town south, and apparently had a "trolley" ferrying people up
to the complex where my studio is...So, happenstance scores a point)
