I’ve got nothing against shopping. I’ve got nothing against sales. But, this whole “Black Friday” shopping day thing just leaves me cold. I’m sure there are good deals that you can get it you’re willing to fight for them. Maybe I’m just lazy.
My wife and I did go shopping yesterday. But, we did it at the Worcester Art Museum. And, they did offer a 20% off deal in the gift shop for members, so I did buy some stuff.
One of the things I like most about the Worcester Art Museum is that it is next to the place where my wife and I met 29 1/2 years ago.

(OK, OK, 29 years, 4 months, 6 days. Happy?)
The museum was already decked out in its Christmas decorations.

We ate lunch at the cafe. I had a chicken pie showing that despite the day before I still wanted more cooked bird and more pie. My wife had the beet salad because she loves feta cheese.

Of course it is an art museum, so here are photos of benches!

There was a special exhibit on the use of the wood pine in art that had a great bench, but it was a special exhibit so I wasn’t allowed to take a photo. It figures that I take all of these photos of benches at art museums and the one time that it is actually part of the exhibit, it is off limits.
We saw the pre-columbian action figure exhibit.

I thought this one was cool.

Maybe it is just the vermillion.
I didn’t remember this painting in the 20th century room.

My wife says it was there, just folks are usually in front of it.
I understand it is two guys stuck in a life raft in WWII. What I’m not sure about is what is that on the horizon?

Looking closer doesn’t help.

My wife thinks it could be the ship they were on still sinking. But, I think it looks like they’ve been in the life boat too lunch for the ship to still be sinking.
But, that doesn’t mean I have a clue as to what it might be.
My wife loves colored glass and always stops to look at it.

The shop there is small and strange. It has surprisingly little to do with art given that it is an art museum shop. But, I bought myself a Easter Island statue tissue dispenser, a building block desk calendar and my wife some of those magnetic balls and a scarf.
Because I fell asleep watching Skyfall when we got back from Florida, I decided to go see it again. It was amazingly crowded. More cars in the parking lot than I remember since the last Star Wars movie came out.

Thinking everyone was off shopping and the place would be empty, I only got there 10 minutes early. So, I ended up right up front instead of a way back as I prefer.
But, I’m glad I went to see it again. I missed all sorts of stuff.
One of the things I didn’t miss, but thought I dreamed, was the giant jellyfish. As I had just been to an aquarium I had thought I dreamed that.
The movie makes much more sense to me now.
On the way home I stopped for more pie crust and was confused by the eggs.
I get all these options.

But, I am confused by vegetarian eggs.

I know some vegetarians still eat eggs, but I’m not sure what makes an egg vegetarian.
I didn’t buy any.
I went home and watched the first episode of Doctor Who since it was the 49th anniversary.

Note that damn near all male chicks hatched are probably killed at hatching, vegetarian or not. Breeds raised for egg production don't even allow the boychicks to be raised for meat.
