Sword practice

Today was a great fall day for sword and fire practice.

We’ve only got 3 weeks left until the pirate faire in Pensacola.
Only 4 of us are going. So, we want to travel light. We’ve decided that we each need 4 swords and 2 daggers.

I hope that’s enough, but either way we’re leaving the others behind.

We spent a lot of time running through the historical fights we’ll be doing for the show. Not everyone is used to the partners we’ll have for this show, so it takes some adjustment.
But, it’s all “whoop nerds” so its not as much of a challenge as it might be otherwise.

I’m very glad she is going as it will make the show much better with her there.
Then we did some fire. This was more of a challenge as we’ve had VERY few fire shows this year.

My wife is willing to light herself on fire when I am not.
She also can shoot fireballs out of the torch.

We didn’t do any of the bigger items this week as it was pretty windy.
The hills were still very nice on the way home.

I like this view across the valley where we live.

It is the opposite of the one showed yesterday. Our apartment is along the top of the far ridge to the left of the road. So, that’s where we were standing yesterday, looking in the direction of this photo today.
Of course the reality of our apartment complex is that there are some folks who just don’t seem to care about other folks very much.

But, what can you do?
