Friday afternoon there were strange clouds forming over out apartment, so we decided to flee the state.

Actually, since last month when we were going to spend a weekend visiting

Sadly the highway into New Hampshire was totally stopped, so we took secondary roads across the boarder.

It is more scenic.

It was probably faster than the stopped highway, but still took more time than usual.

But, we got there bringing gifts of beer, cheese (neither of which I consume) and chocolate (which I do).

Saturday morning started very foggy.

This did not deter our hosts from make us breakfast.

Sadly “PAM for the grill” does not work well with waffle makers. So, “PAM with olive oil” was used instead.
The olive flavored waffles were still quite good.

The guys headed into town to get more food, and non-olive oil cooking spray and out wives headed into the lake.

Once we got back

No, I didn’t wait an hour.
My wife went for the inflatable floating chair. I went for a different floatation device.

The problem with inflatable alligators is they still do that death roll thing.

But, if you can get on them, they’re a lot of fun. Even with speed boats zipping around a small lake.

For dinner we headed up to a Chinese place on Lake Winnipesaukee .
There was a discussion about my “obsession” with taking photos of things. And, Mrs

So, by request:

There are places that look more “traditional New England” that that too.

The place we were going is right at the very end of the lake.

It’s a bit of a strange place. One of the folks working there assured us that this was the only Chinese restaurant owned by Irish people we were going to find. (She didn’t know about our adventures in Ireland with “Everyone was Kung Fu fighting”.)
I will admit I’ve never seen a place with loaner glasses to read the menu.

It was nice, but a bit slow. The waitress assured us that she was dealing with pea pods in the back, and that’s why it took a while. Sounded like something out of an science fiction story to me.

The food, Irish or no, was very good.

(Although I must admit, nothing like what I’ve eaten in China. But, that is true of most Chinese restaurants in New England.)
After dinner we drove along the lake some.

We found a place where they were shooting off fire works on the other side.

Then back to their house for desert. Sadly the heat in my car had melted most of the chocolate together. But, we managed.

All in all, a very good day spent with good friends.
A great day.
