May. 31st, 2012 08:59 pmI head movie theaters aren’t doing well.
Last Saturday my wife and I went to a noon show of Men in Black 3.

Not really knocking down the doors to get in, are they?
My little Prius is going more from blue to green as the yellow gunk coats everything.

The good news, for me, is I am far less allergic to this pollen than the stuff earlier in the year. I’m not saying I like it. I’m still stuffed up with itchy eyes. But, the early pollen is not enough to see, and I get far worse reactions. If I was that allergic to this, I’m not sure I’d be able to get out of bed at all.
Monday we went to see “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.” Different theater, but you can see the same parking problem.

OK, I was being unfair and pointing the camera a specific way. But, even if I point it the good way there weren’t that many folks there.

These are in bloom in front of our apartment building.

Just to make another point about my mother and gardens, this same sort of plant was in front of the house in which I grew up.
I didn’t know they flowered until I was in my 30’s.
This is the apartment complex where I live with my wife.

This is taken at the base of our building, so you can’t see where we live, but it is much the same, just down hill.
Outside my office there are some big fluffy bees going after the plants.

I’m allergic to both plants and bees, so tend not to sniff either. But, they look nice.
I was very happy today to see the sun come out when it was pointed in a way to hit the cactus on the shelf at work.

At lunch I went to Whole Foods as it was Thursday. I bought some of those wafer cookies.

I’m worried because they say they are 74% filling. What is the other 26%?
Or is it 26% chocolate and 74% filler?
Any one who remembers the movie The Stuff would worry about this as I do.
