As with the last two years down here, we’re staying on International Drive. Not because we really like the area, but because we are cheap and they offer good deals on hotels. And there are a lot of hotels on this drive.
As with all of them along this drive, it’s got some good and bad points.
Good
EcoFriendly toilets with low water consumption
Bad
It takes several flushes to get rid of “things” so you end up using more water.
Good
EcoFriendly shows with low water usage shower heads
Bad
Bad seals so it drips all night when you think it is off, using more water
Good
5 different wifi networks to choose from to get good signal strength
Bad
The signal randomly cuts off causing issues when using it. (It convinced Blizzard someone was trying to hack my account. That took some effort to fix as the connection continued to go up and down as I tried to prove I knew my passwords...)
Good
Sleep number beds
Bad
(This really isn’t their fault) my wife keeps her side very firm. I keep mine very soft. Since they are basically big balloons with different levels of inflation, this causes a high side and a low side. This can cause rolling farther than you might expect.
Good
No bugs
Bad
Obnoxious air freshener
Good
Easy to find stairs so you don’t have to use the elevators
Bad
Stairs covered in wet paint and only for emergencies.
Good
Excellent prices for the week before Christmas. (Under $50 a night with all taxes, fees, etc.)
Bad
Our last two nights, the rate doubles (But, the overall was still quite good.)
So far, after only one night, it is better than the one we stayed at last year.
