Christmas party

Yesterday was the Phoenix Swords Christmas party.

It was at O’Connor’s as it has been for the past two years. Some of the signs in the room led us to believe it was a good choice.

But, truth be told, it was a bit crowded.

This year we started a bit later than before so the folks from CT could make it up.

It was good those folks could make it, even if some of them seemed surprised.

As always, the food was good.

It was good to see folks.

But, as Scrooge Frank, I’ve got to admit my my overwhelming impression of this year’s party was:

The two babies that were there were fine.

But, the toddlers, loud.

And, they seemed to have a strange fascination with bread products.

But, I guess an adult showed it to them...

And, I can’t say that the adults really slowed the kids down much.

I’m torn on it.
I’m pretty sure I would have enjoyed it more if screaming children weren’t crawling over my feet as they chased each other under the table at a restaurant.
But, this is the “Thank you” dinner for everyone who has worked hard on the troupe all year. Their families give up time with them so they can come and perform at our shows.
So, the families should be thanked too.
Maybe we should just look for a different venue that would be more kid friendly as more than 20% of the people there were under the age of 5...
