I’m tired

Over all, things went well.
Our shows went well enough. They could have been better, but we did improve things as we went. And, given what we’ve done in the past, this was great.
There was a time when we had to prove we belonged there. I don’t think that is true any more. I also don’t think we should stop proving it.
But, it is nice to be getting “It’s so good to see you guys” instead of the “Oh, you’re hear again”.
I just want to make sure we don’t get complacent about it.
I didn’t enjoy it as much as usual this year. My heart just wasn’t in it as much.
It’s still fun. I’m still glad I do it. It’s still one of my favorite shows.
There are times I feel like I’m painting a house that’s on fire. I can work really hard. I can cover up smoke stains or burns. I can take pride in the job I do. I can have fun doing it.
But, in the long run, it isn’t going to count for much.
