Taking the rotation of the Earth, the motion of the Earth around the sun and the motion of the sun around the galaxy into consideration, our faire is only 366,668,760 miles away.
We are corkscrewing towards it at 572,293 miles per hour.
Frighteningly close.

(You know I would take universal expansion into account if only there was some agreement about just how fast we are moving away from every other point in space. I’ve heard every number from zero to lightspeed, so throw them all out for now.)

Anyhow...
The weather predictions not being too on target this weekend, it rained today instead of last night.
So, practice was in the garage.

A few brave people did take our swords off into the rain to practice.

(On their return, I greeted them at the entrance to the garage with cleaners for the swords.)

Most folks did work inside.

Today was the day for having everyone’s characters locked and the reasons for their fights down. Now I’ve got to write that up for the “magistrate” to read at the trial by combat.
I wish I had been more active in this, but am still under the weather. So, I mostly wrote notes on the iPad and had others give directions.

Eventually the rain stopped and we could go back outside. Folks seemed happy about this.

We spent the last hour of practice figuring out what order to do things in the fire show.

You might think that would be easy after all of these years of fire shows. You’d be wrong.
But, it got done.
