We started off by going to storage to get the things we forgot last week.
As ever, people’s courtesy and adherence to signs makes me marvel.

But, we soon had our stuff and were on our way. It was a beautiful day with literally not a cloud in the sky.

However, at the base of Shrewsbury street, there was some sort of parade/procession/ceremony going on. It looked interesting, but we couldn’t figure out what it was.

And, along with other wonders, we saw an actual train on the track that runs through the hospital in downtown Worcester.

(Yes, through. The hospital has a tunnel through it. The train was there first, so got to stay. But, the line isn’t used all that often.)
In addition to all of our performance work, other preparations are going on for our faire.

Today we were doing fight reviews. Everyone who wanted to do a fight needed to review it in front of the rest of the troupe.

We reviewed a lot of fights.

I do still have serious qualms about one of our members performing with both sword and fire.

We do have a rule that everyone gets to determine what they’re comfortable doing in the troupe. So, if she’s comfortable, the rules say I should let it go.
But, I still worry. A lot.
In other worry areas, the experienced fire eaters taught some people how to eat fire.

Some times it is best to start with a smaller amount of fire.

And not go right to this:

But, gradually work up to a bit more.

Even our newest member started trying.

For the record, I won’t do it. Just won’t.
Then, it was teaching of the tongue lighting.

I’m told the hardest part is bringing the torch to your face to light your tongue.

But, if you can manage it, it does look cool.

And,

We also had someone trying some fire tricks they hadn’t done since last year.

It went OK, but more practice is needed.
We’re still working out what to do with our new “toy”.

So, it wasn’t even lit today as the dynamics are still being worked out.
So, we moved on to fire breath.
Now that we have two people doing it, there is a bit of competition going.

But, sometimes cooperation is better.

And, working together can bring about big things.

So, it went well.
As always I am worried at this point that it won’t all come together.
But, our folks are working very hard for it.
So, I think it will.
But, more hard work will be needed.
