I’m a geek. I admit it.

“You watch too much TV”
So Mark, the head of installation, was walking down the hall today.
I saw him wearing this shirt:

So, I said “Hey, that reminds me of the uniforms from the old Space 1999
show.”
“What?” he said.
“You know, that British Science fiction show from the 70’s,” I said. “In
the first season their uniforms looked sort of like that.”
“Yeah, whatever,” he said, and walked over to my boss’ office.
A few moments later, my phone rang.
“Where did you find that starship with the highlighter?” he asked me.
So, I went over to my boss’ office.
“That’s nothing,” my boss said. “You should have seen how excited he got
over this highlighter.”
Marked looked at it, and looked at me.
“I had read that the Cheyenne class starship model was made using
highlighters as warp nacelles,” I said. “Despite reading that years ago, I
had never seen a highlighter that matched the shape until I saw it on
Bill’s desk yesterday. So, I called up the ship picture to show him it
matched.”
“And, it does,” Bill said, calling it up on his computer again.

Mark looked, and agreed the highlighter matched. Bill called up a Space
1999 site and showed him his shirt was similar. (It really isn’t that
similar, but it did remind me of it.)
“You guys watch way to much TV,” he said.
“No,” I said. “But, I used to…”
