Today was the day we were having the Phoenix knife/dagger fighting class.
We got up early to run some errands first.
Driving through Worcester I was very impressed with the thieves who strip cars.
Most places they take off the tires, these guys stole the hood.

Heading in to get Jon and Mark, our instructors, we saw some very fast racking pigeons. They were doing at least 60 MPH!

But, I’m not sure they really felt the wind in their feathers.

We met John at the Framingham train station.

I parked at what had been the train station decades ago. But, I guess they have a new one just beyond.

It’s too bad I liked the old one better.

This non-racing pigeon got the only spot to perch with all the spikes on the windows.

Before I could move the car, the train got there.

Trains are big.

We got Jon, then went over to the bus station and got Mark, then off to the practice grounds.

I was worried how many folks we’d get on Memorial Day weekend, but a good number showed up.

I thought they were going to teach us from a book I don’t have (rare), but it turns out my wife had a copy all along!

Fighting with knife and big hat. Cool stuff.

You don’t always need a hat.

But, it helps~

And of course, dancing always helps!

It was very interesting as it is a style used in the 1800’s by “debt collectors” that worked for “influential families” that were owed money from gambling debts.
Cool stuff.

We took the instructors out for dinner, and drove them back into Boston.
We did stop at Whole Foods in Framingham on the way home to get stuff to eat tomorrow. Not the cheapest choice, but good food!

I have to admit, after the last two days, I’m tired.
Glad I have tomorrow off and nothing (but laundry) to do.
