My faith in rodents restored

12 days ago, in the middle of a snow and ice storm, the official
Groundhog’s day groundhog has said that winter was over and spring would be
here soon.
I laughed at that.  10 inches of snow had just fallen and a layer of ice
was falling out of the sky onto it.  The snow banks along the road were up
to ten feet tall.  Mountains of snow were so tall in local parking lots
that some people had climbed up and planted flags on them.  We were getting
a storm twice a week, most dumping six to ten inches of snow.

Since groundhog’s day we’ve had rain twice, flurries once and today is was
so warm out I didn’t even put on my hat.
By the end of the week it is supposed to be in the 50’s even if last week
it was 4.

Maybe rodents know something I don’t…

Apparently that groundhog knows something we don't! It's about 50 today and staying between there and 60 all week...I keep wondering if it's just a cruel joke or if spring really IS on the way...
