Holly days and new years

My wife had her birthday off, but I did not. I had to go into work to answer that age old question “how many engineers does it take to get a freezer off of a truck?”

The answer is: 3 engineers, 1 tech and a truck driver.
I’m not sure the truck driver was really that needed in it. Most of what he seemed to add was the need for a new railing on the stairs.

That evening we went out to dinner at a place my wife had wanted to try for some time and we were joined by friends.

My wife seemed surprised by a lot of folks turning out.

The food was good, even the sardines.

Then we came back to our place and had cake.

My wife asked to have her car washed, so the next morning we drove through the Mickey car wash.

I hadn’t been through one in a while, it was fun.

We met my aunt and uncle for lunch, then went back to their place for desert.

She is my mother’s sister and has that family coat of arms displayed.

(When I moved to New Hampshire in 1988 the apartment I found had the same coat of arms hanging on the wall. It turned out the previous tenant was a distant cousin.)
My aunt tried to get their new cat to come out and visit.

The cat did come out to see what was going on, but really didn’t seem too interested in us.

The cat’s goal seemed to be to steal the cat toy and drag it under the bed.

In the evening we went over to

We did play with the top that

Some people seemed more interested in the new year then others.

We went home at 10 and were in bed long before midnight.
