Dusack day

For dusack day I work up and made the traditional blueberry muffins.

No one knows why this is a dusack day tradition, but it goes back hundreds and hundreds of minutes.

Lots of people turned out for the dusack day celebration.

That was good because I was afraid we’d get a low turnout. So many people want to celebrate dusack day with their family....

Soon we had the presentation of the dusack.

Mark being Mark gave quite the in depth historical dusack day historical speech even if many of us know it by heart already.

Of course, it wouldn’t be dusack day without the traditional dusack day dances.


Sadly, not everyone is into dusack day dancing.


But, others more then made up for it.

Of course it was old Snoozewadler’s first formal dusack day so he was a bit stiff in the dancing, but he gave it his best shot.

Of course many of us have been dancing the dusack dances for many, many years.


And, pretty soon everyone was joining in.


Now, there are many traditions of dusack day that are someone mysterious these days.


And, no one likes taking them to extremes.


perrin_o_ravnos was quick to remind me of the seriousness of the day.


And, of course, on dusack day it is very important to support local shrubbery.


At the end of the festivities you must don protective equipment and fight to see who has to clean up.


perrin_o_ravnos is very good at competing to not clean up after dusack day and managed to tear the dusack right out of my hand!


And, he pressed the fight pretty well against my successors too.


There was much whacking of heads and then cleaning up.



Then, it was out to eat for the traditional dusack day dinner.


Of course getting seating at a restaurant on dusack day without reservations is not easy. We did call ahead and ask for a table. But, the 99 restaurant seems to think their name is the amount of time you should wait.

Still, it was a pretty good time for all.
