I guess I’m patriotic

fbhjrMassachusetts and Maine are the only 2 states that celebrate Patriot’s Day in April. Even then, most places don’t get it off.
The place I work now is the first place to give it to me as a paid holiday since I worked for the iron foundry in the 80’s.
It isn’t because of the anniversary of the battle of Lexington and Concord setting off the American revolution.
It’s because today is the day they run the Boston Marathon.
The 26 mile run starts in the town where I work. Thousands of people show up to run, watch people run, or report on people running.
I’m not sure I could get to work if I wanted to. They shut down the highway exit about the time I usually go in and I can only imagine what it would have been like trying to use it.
The only sad thing is my wife is both sick and at work.
Ah well, hopefully she’ll get better soon and I can have some nice soup or something ready when she gets here.
