This month’s game night theme was pie.
My wife made an apple pie. I made a beef and mushroom pie and a turkey pie.
Everyone else brought some sort of pie like thing. There was a debate of Twinkies counted or not. I said they weren’t really pies, but was told that was just semantics. So that became the word of the night.
As we had gone to the museum recently, I brought some of my reproduction games that we played while we ate pies.

So over the last few game nights, he’s done the Orange (greed), Purple (Love) and Red (Rage). Greed, Love and Rage. There was a fair bit of discussion over the meanings of his choices, but no conclusions.
We played a nice castle building game designed for 8 year olds that kept us busy for about an hour.

Some people were more interested in building castles, some in knocking them down. So, there was a balance in the game for quite a while. (Anyone who says anything along the lines of “if you had read all the rules first it might have gone faster” does not understand how these game nights work.)

(Or he better learn to be doing that if he wants to make a living as an artist.)
This game night we got some gender mixing in the games. Only women who shared a first name came and played games with us, but it was still a nice change.

So, in fairness, many of the guys went into the other room and chatted as well.

This seemed to drive the women into the kitchen to talk, but we tried to join them, really we did.

All in all it was a good game night. I like games, I like pies, I like my friends
