I set the VCR Tuesday night to record curling and finally got to watch it last night.
While the US/Norway match did go into an extra round and came down to the last stone to see who would win, the cheering in the stadium indicated some of the other games going on at the same time were at least as exciting or more. But, they weren’t the US team, so only shown in passing on the US network.
It’s funny that they complained that the US and Norway people had trouble hearing each other over the cheering for the Canadian match.
Even the announcers would say things like “the match with the Canadians seems to be very exciting, but we’re going to keep on the US team.”
At least the US match was a good one. And did come down to “sudden death curling” where the first team to score a point would win. So, although the US did lose by one point, it was a close game.
I am also glad that I got it on tape. If I had to sit through all those commercials it would have been much less fun for me…

my mom was watching the curling and sucked me in to watch some of that match against the Swiss. it would have been more interesting if she had told me from the start that it was bocce on ice. ;)

I think of it more like horseshoes on ice, but very similar ideas...
