Some days I hate my job.
The production department didn’t get an order ready because it didn’t know it had the parts.
Why not?
“The stock alert didn’t say we were short parts.”
Yes, that’s right. The computer said they weren’t short parts, so he assumed there weren’t any and he didn’t have to process them.

And, QC send me a report last week saying some dimensions were off on a part. I said bring me a sample to look at. They never did. So, it’s my fault they weren’t approved.

There has been a number of instances between the Fabrication shop and the Plaque room (where we assemble and screenprint stuff the Fab shop makes); mostly when it comes to mounting a small plaque with a [room number, or a bathroom symbol] onto another plaque that will mount to the wall, but the outside edges need to be flush with the mounting plaque, so it looks all nice and pretty and flush.

Plaque room: These plaques were not cut/routed evenly, they do not match flush with the mounting plaque
Fab Shop: What?! How is that possible, let me see (fiddles), Oh, c'mon that's easy, just rotate the plaque to the side who's
going to know/see/care?
Plaque Room: Yeah, Um, those plaques are supposed to be SQUARE.
Fab Shop: Urrm..Well..Umm...No, No we can't possibly be wrong, donchya know we're super perfect?!
Plaque Room: Uh, sure you are, the paperwork clearly states the dimensions are 5X5". That means square, not rectangular. So
rotating the plaques do nothing, because the mounting plaques are also square.
Fab Shop: NO! You're wrong! The paperwork is wrong! Just rotate them, they'll be fine, they'll line up fine!
Plaque Room: (opens up paperwork) Um, yeah, the paperwork clearly states the size is 5X5". The plaques you cut are 5X6" and the mounting plaques are remarkably 5X5".
Fab Shop: But NO! We're perfect and you're not and your wrong just rotate them WAAAAAAH!

Anyways...

I'm trying to cheer you up...The stupid is everywhere.

I'm afraid that "the stupid is everywhere" doesn't really cheer me up.
And, as stupid as it is, this is still far, far better than many places I've worked.
