Andorian Folk Trio
Dec. 22nd, 2009 11:20 pmOur hotel room is very nice and our window opens onto the golf course.

There seem to be all sorts of birds and other wildlife there.

We set off for Winter Park and The Morse Museum.

As the roads were named in our honor, we felt right at home.

Sadly, no pictures allowed in the museum. But, it is very nice and has a lot of Tiffany glass, which my wife likes a lot.
After the museum, we roamed the streets some. Personally, I think it is mean to make bears work for the holiday when they should be sleeping. But, I guess they need the money.

It was warm and sunny in Winter park.

But, the place did seem to be bothered by flying saucers.

So, back to Orlando.

That’s really cool.
But, we had to go to Universal Studios...

Now, after the museum, we only had 3 hours until we were going to meet. That would give us time to drive to the hotel, do something for less then an hour, then drive back.
So, I said “Why not just go there now? There is supposed to be all this stuff to do just outside of the park where we don’t pay the horrendous money to get in, and we won’t have to drive back and forth...”
Well, it made sense to me at the time.
There were a lot of places to eat there.

But, not a lot else to do.
We did walk around a lot, and the warm sun was nice.

I do have to say that they had the biggest snow people I have ever seen.

So, we waited for my cousins to show up.

My wife were very intrigued by this one roller coaster inside the park. It lifts cars straight up and then drops them straight down, then spins them around a lot.

Personally, I wouldn’t want to be on that car as it crested the top...

And, it looks like you can see through the bottom of the car. So, that wouldn’t really add to my sense of safety.

But, not wanting to pay the high rate to get in for a closer look, we waited outside for the others.

And, played “spot the cousin”

My cousins got there and we all went in to see the blue performers.

Sadly, no photos in there. It is quite a show. Very, very impresive. Not just for what they do, but for what has to happen for them to do it. My wife and I both spent a fair bit of time watching the set up and tech as well as the show itself.
Afterwards we all went out to dinner.
It was a good time and my cousin seemed to have a good time for her birthday.

The only down side is that at some point when walking around the village for 2 hours, we dropped the Flip video camera and couldn’t find it. But, we hadn’t shot much video with it, so not much data was lost. Still sad, but not awful.
Over all, the day was a lot of fun.
