To be fair, I didn't know it right off the top of my head. I figured it was a dewey classification, and looked it up to see which one. 796 are athletic sports & games, and 796.2 are those games requiring special equipment (in this case, roller skates).
is also a member of a roller-derby team - in Lowell, MA I think. She also has a rather bookish type normal job - in accounting, I think. It was interesting watching the movie with the women on the old school 2x2 skates as I think the league that our flautist competes in uses the inline variety now.
I was really surprised to hear that these women really enjoy this weird and bruising game, but they keep going back for me - and they certainly don't make any money at it..
