Invention report
Aug. 28th, 2009 02:24 pmThe other day I thought of a different way to drag home the shopping.

I tried it out yesterday and it works. But, it is harder to use then I expected.
The problem is, to keep the bags from dragging, I have to hang them pretty high up the handle. That means they’re putting a good bit of their force down.

Now, I’m still getting a 20% reduction in lifting force, which isn’t bad. But, it would be nice to get more.
I could either counter weight it, or add a third wheel. Still working out which.

Date: 2009-08-28 07:30 pm (UTC)You might also get more ground clearance and a smoother ride if you think about suspending the load from what one might describe as a strung bow, or leaf spring that curved upwards from the axle toward the handle - that would tend to absorb the 'shock' of heavy groceries going over joints in the sidewalk.

A third wheel on the bottom might work out better...
