My wife had heard that the Worcester Art Museum was having a special feature in their baroque gallery where they were playing music contemporary to the paintings.
Since we’re members and can get in for free, we headed over.
We ran into a problem in the parking lot as all the lines were missing.

I’ve heard of people stealing paintings from museums, but this just seems silly.
The first car there parked at one end and we parked at the other. Other people filled in the middle as they saw fit later.

Then, we had to find the exhibit we were after.

First, we went to an exhibit on printed images that was really cool.
They not only have some very cool images printed from wood blocks and such, but have some examples of the blocks they came from.

The actual exhibit is in a “no photo” area (the above was outside trying to get you to go in) so I can’t show the ones I thought were the coolest. It isn’t a big exhibit, but has some really great things in it.

Then, we hit the main galleries.

As some folks who have been to museums with me before know, I’m always looking for signs of Indiana Jones having been there. This time I saw a clear sign from the third movie.

But, I didn’t dig it up.

There was indeed a gallery where they were playing music. I sat there for a while and listened to it. It was very nice.
But, what I see see in the paintings doesn’t seem to be what others get out of it.
I don’t care. I like it.

Then, we had a great treat. As we came out of the gallery, we got to take a survey on the music and if we liked it!

I know there are folks out there who don’t like taking surveys, but I love telling people what I thought of their work. You can see the guy had to go to page two to get down all we said.
He said he’s been there for three weeks asking people about it. I got the distinct impression we gave more feedback then average.
But, if people do things to try and get more business, then it is important for them to find out if it works, right?

When we came out of the museum, the weather was weird. Strange clouds that were very fast moving.

It resulted in things like pouring rain in bright sun.

We decided to go to a place I really like for lunch.

My wife said we were doing research for the “Drunk & Sailor” logo she is working on. And, she did seem to be inspired by the Celtic items around us, expressing ideas on the napkins.

She also said this list of Guinness things had to be sent to [livejournal.com profile] mythfish, don’t know why...

It was a fun time and good to get out of the house. This week has been very hot and humid and I’ve spent a lot of time hiding in the AC. I’m glad that there is such an interesting place just a few miles away and we get in for free.
As a note to anyone who may be thinking of going to this museum soon, [livejournal.com profile] evrgreen, it is free to everyone Saturday mornings before noon.
