Hate those hackers

So some hacker managed to embed something in the Phoenix website that set off the Google police. They, correctly, marked it as a hazard and blacklisted our site.
My wife spent most of the day trying to fix it and was quite upset and frustrated by it.
According to her, because I know nothing of these things, it's got to do with the server who hosts our site and nothing at all to do with our content. I guess the server can be compromised and that's all there is too it.
So, after 7 years of having our site with the same people, we're looking to move it.
It annoys me a lot. It's not the first time something like this has happened.
I just don't understand what the people who do get out of it.

Date: 2009-08-02 05:08 am (UTC)usually a hacked site will send the poor sap who visits to another linked site with a clickjacking and install some malware, perhaps even a trojan that installs a botnet client, turning their machine into a zombie which does their bidding, usually, sending spam.
