Evil rodent experiments

As I’ve mentioned the poison ivy seems to be sprouting all over this year.

As I’ve also mentioned, my Godchildren have had issues with rodents because what they thought were two same sexed gerbils were not.
So, I was wondering if these two problems could be combined to be self solving.
Could I take a breeding pair of small rodents (mice, gerbils or hamsters) and feed them nothing but poison ivy. They go through generations pretty fast. So, by next year’s ivy season could I have specially bred poison ivy eating rodents?
Then, all I’d have to do is let them loose into Shrewsbury to eat all the poison ivy. Given the large supply in town, they will quickly outbreed and take over the rodent place in the food chain.
So, should I add this to my project list?

and
No! Are you insane? You'd breed a race of super mice that sweat poison and have stingers in their tails!
