Good job Best Buy

When I needed a computer cable I didn’t have last night, I went over to
Best Buy in Worcester. The sales guy was very helpful to me, got me the
cable I needed very quickly and was quite nice even if he stayed past his
leaving time to help me.
I’ve complained in the past that it is hard to get salespeople there to
help you, but this guy was helpful when I needed it and I really appreciate
it.
(Yes, I already filled out their store survey saying so…)

It’s no Newton

Much like how I think of my iPad in terms of my Newton from 1995, I think
of my new iMac in terms of my original Mac 512 in 1985.
Honestly, it is hard to grasp the scale of the comparison.
The screen is 3.4 times bigger.  OK, that one I get.  The others are harder.
The speed is 1400 times more.
The memory is 8,000 times more.
The storage is 250,000 more.
And, I paid the same amount for them.
Of course, my 1985 dollars were worth more.  So, if you take that into
account, I actually only paid 51% of what I paid for my first one.

Sadly, I can’t show a picture of the old and new one next to each other as
with the Newton.  Back in 1995 or so I gave my first Mac to a museum.
