Life as a saint

Day one of the Saint Gregory faire was OK. The weather was not great. On the drive down we had very strongly divided areas of fog/clouds with clear sky.

At points it was like there was a very real line across the sky where it changed.

But, there were parts when it was nice.

Sadly the show seemed to be in one of the foggy areas.

And, it stayed that way for most of the day.
Because we are playing both the sides of Saint Gregory and the invading barbarians, we called in the reserves for this one and have 14 people at the job.

Half of us are monks the other half the Lombards.

Music seems to bring the two sides together, even if we are supposed to be fighting all day.

We did have monks experiment with barbarian head gear.

And, barbarian kings try on monk hats.

It went OK. Actually our big sword battle at the end went off much better then I had feared.
There weren’t a whole lot of people, but I put that down to the weather. Hopefully today will be better, but as I write this 5 hours before the start, it’s raining...

Sorry I couldm't be there to help, but glad to hear everything went well.
Just as well, as we heard from our other Legion members they were stuck in 3 hours' traffic on 495 South on Saturday; I can't imagine what it would have been on 84 and 95 south to CT. Yeck.
