Weird dream
Feb. 10th, 2009 03:23 pmLast night I had a dream that I was hired to teach a very well off man how to sword fight. I put my swords in my station wagon, and drove off to see him.
He lived in a villa surrounded by a big wall. Once through the gates I could see it had a big swimming pool and lots of space around the house.
The person who told me where to park told me to bring my swords and go into the main house. I brought a pair of longswords and went in.
There were a bunch of men in suits watching TV in the living room. I was told to put down the swords and wait.
While I waited, the men there started picking up the swords and playing with them.
“Don’t do that,” I said. “They are for instruction. If you use them wrong, I’ll pack them up and go.”
“You ain’t going nowhere,” a voice behind me said. “You’re giving us sword lessons so we have an advantage.”
“Why do we have to do this, boss?” one of the men asked. “We know how to fight with knives already!”
“Swords are traditional,” the boss said. “This guys going to show us how to use them. Lots of folks keep swords in their houses. If we know how to use them, we don’t have to sneak anything in.”
I tried to think of a way to get out of giving them sword lessons, and becoming an accessory to murder, but couldn’t.
Dream ends
(Several years ago, one of the members of Phoenix Swords was contacted for private sword lessons. It wasn’t a mob thing like in my dream. It was a man in the Knight’s of Columbus. I guess at some point you’re given a sword and make a pledge to protect the Pope. This man took that very seriously and wanted to be able to use the sword. That member isn’t with our group anymore, so I’m not sure how that turned out…)
