Our last day on the ship was a "day at sea" where we cruised down the coast of Denmark to Copenhagen. There were lectures and food and packing.

Friday morning we sailed into Copenhagen harbor.

We had to get out by 8, but our car wasn’t ready until 9, so we waited by the ship while trucks and busses played chicken on the narrow drive.

Finally our car arrived and took us across Copenhagen to the airport at the hotel.

Then we tried to find the rental car place at the airport. It was not easy, but we finally found it with their bad door.

We headed off to the Viking ship museum, but their parking lot was overflowing, so we parked a bit away and walked over.

I liked the museum. They have excavated several viking ships scuttled to create a barrier to invaders. They’ve also been making replicas of them, which they sail about. But, we didn’t want to wait for the line, or sail with a bunch of kids, so didn’t do it ourselves.

Then, we walked back to the car and drove to Sweden.

There is a stone circle there that I thought was out of the way and no one would be there. But, I was wrong. The parking is a ways away and you’ve got to walk through town to get there.
Lots of folks doing parasailing there.

Then, back to Copenhagen where we turned in the car. It’s a bit confusing where to return it as it isn’t the rental car center, but a parking lot 1/4 KM away.

But we got back to the hotel.

I like their policies.

In the morning we had breakfast, walked across the street to the airport, took a flight to Amsterdam, ran through that airport and got to the next flight just as it started boarding and then got back to Boston.

Neat. I added you to my reading list just in time to follow your modern, photographed, viking version of The Innocence Abroad. Very interesting :)

Very cool! Great photos. Great that you could document this as well considering how stressful that day ended up for you both.
