This week’s practice

It was a cloudy day, but quite warm, about 17C.

I had recently received a new item of clothing to wear at our shows:

I can’t tell what it looks like in my mirror at home, and I needed to know if I’d be able to do my sword fights in it.
So, I wore it at the start of practice to get a look and test the sword fight in it.

(Video of the fight included in the link down at the bottom…)
When I raise my sword over my head, there is a bit of a visibility problem. But, I don’t do that much. i think it will be fine.

Once that was done, I changed into more modern clothes and we got one with this week’s development of Mair’s scythe instructions. Robin and I tired it while my read from the translation we have. Generally we try it with the plastic ones and then again with the metal once we think we’ve worked out the moves.

Afterwards my wife and Casey worked on their new fight. Not sure about fighting with a book and throwing it.

Robin and TJ are also working on a new theatrical fight.

I’ve taken video of all of this and mushed it together for this video:
