Cruise day 5

I’m writing this from the main lounge of the ship as we wait to get off in Cape Town and take the tour of the city we booked.
Yesterday was another day at sea as we sail from the Indian to the Atlantic oceans. So, no tours, no major adventures.
We did spend a lot of time on the balcony of our cabin. It faced south, so was out of the sun.
We went through several big banks of fog. One of them in the morning resulted in a rainbow forming.
But, it was a small one that formed right below our balcony. It was like our own personal rainbow.
It didn’t last very long, but was still very cool.
Later I saw something sticking out of the water, which is fairly rare. As it got closer it almost looked like rabbit ears sticking out of the water.
But, as the wake of the ship hit it, it rolled over, spun away and shot off.
I’m thinking it was a seal with its flippers up. A turtle has also been suggested, but that’s spin it made seemed more seal like that turtle.
The cruise is all inclusive, including tips, but we opted to give our cabin crew, butler Nur and steward Ferdinand, a bit more as I really don’t know what the cruise line gives them.
They seemed very happy about this, so I guess we gave a good amount.
We had dinner for the third night at the Asian restaurant on the lower deck. We didn’t try every place on board, but they were the best we did try by far. So, once we found that, we stayed with them.
(The grill gave my wife a portobello she said would have shamed a chain restaurant back home. The main dining room took almost 2 1/2 hours, didn’t refill our drinks or water and just was not enjoyable. Yes, I’ve done the survey and been honest.)
We spent much of the afternoon and evening packing. We haven’t bought much this trip, but our bags were pretty full at the start. So, getting it all back in was a challenge.
This morning I got up to see us come into Cape Town just at dawn. It was great.
Now we’ve got a tour of the mountain next to the city. I’m looking forward to it.
Tomorrow we start the very long trip back home.
