We had Friday off and left before 8 to drive down to Delaware.

The first rest area in New Jersey has a cake dispensing machine. I’ve never bought cake from it, but I am tempted.

Lot of birds at that rest area.

We set things up before the sun went down.

Then, back past the nuclear plant to the hotel.

We had adjoining rooms with Tom and Casey, but didn’t really use it.

Instead as the moon rose we went to the supermarket and got supplies for the weekend.

The next day, back through the swamp to the show:

The faire is at the site of a Vietnam Vet commune, and they still have their helicopter.

Everyone is very impressed.

Sadly, the fence by our tent was so overcome it fainted and collapsed on us. But, with the help of pole weapons we fixed it.

The actual show photos are on the Phoenix Dreamwidth here: https://phoenixswords.dreamwidth.org/6463.html

Our friend Al, his wife and daughter (our goddaughter) drove the two hours from their place to see us. We always like seeing them and were honored they’d drive that far to spend their Saturday with us.

We opted to do the potluck dinner at the faire rather than go someplace. It saved money, but next weekend, we’ll go somewhere else.

Each trip to the site and back we passed the exit for "Bear Glasgow", my wife thinks it is a good name for a detective, so if you ever see stories with that character, thank my wife and this street sign.

There had been a big debate on if we should drive back Sunday night after the faire, or get up at 2AM and drive then.
We opted to drive home in the rain Sunday night.

We got to go north on the south bridge into New Jersey due to construction.

The big bridge in New York looked very SciFi in the rain and fog:

Monday morning we found the rain had taken a lot of leaves down.

This job put our average show location in "Voorhees Township" in New Jersey.

That’s almost right for Halloween, but Jason Voorhees is from the Friday the 13th movies, not the Halloween movies, so not quite it.
We’ll have to try harder…
